WooThemes Release Fresh Folio September 1, 2008
WooThemes have become one of the leaders in premium wordpress themes since they relaunched and they certainly deserve their place. Today they released their latest offering named Fresh Folio. It is based on two of their previous themes bringing the best of both. It is a portfolio/blog theme designed to mix the two. It is worth mentioning that it is now very common for designers to publish a blog alongside their site as it is a great way to build up readers and potential clients, Fresh Folio allows you to do this brilliantly.
It comes in a range of colours and styles including Grunge, Antique and Nightlife. Whichever style you choose it will look great and really show off your portfolio without spending ages coding, simply add a portfolio item through the Wordpress admin area.

The homepage is designed to both showcase your featured portfolio work (albeit web design, graphic design or photography), along with posts from your blog. The dual nature of the theme - and especially the homepage - allows you to take an integrated approach of publishing both your portfolio & blog in one, clean environment. This has got to be one of the best free wordpress themes I have come across for a long time. It is now common to see themes that make use of paper and stationary. There are a few problems with the theme such as the inability to add widgets to the sidebar but adding them I think would just ruin the look of the theme. Today’s featured wordpress template is WP Imagination from Themelab. One of the best things about this template apart from its looks is the fact that it has an asides option which in effect is a sideblog. You simply set up a category for the asides and they are shown in the asides sidebar. This is great if you want to do quick sharp posts. It also features a what’s new area which lists the latest posts.
The theme also comes with a customisation page inside the admin area so you can change options in the template without having to go into the code, you can set things like how many posts you want on the front page.

On my search for today’s featured wordpress template I found this rather nice free wordpress template from HeadsetOptions. It comes with a customisable page inside the wordpress admin area so that you don’t have to mess around with the code for example you can change the header image from the admin area.
It has an ajax tab area in the sidebar so you can pack more into your blog as well as the popular 125px x 125px advert blocks and has 2 widget ready sidebars and a widget ready footer.
